Thank you for visiting Cannon Poets. In 2008 we are celebrating our 25th year. To celebrate our Silver Jubilee we have a poetry competition with the theme 'play' and we plan to make the September 2008 edition of the Cannon's Mouth our special Silver Junilee edition. We may even get round to putting something new in our poems section.
About Us
Since 1983, Cannon Poets have met monthly at the MAC [Midlands Arts Centre] Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham.
Due to the extended closure of Midland Arts Centre, from April 2008 we will be meeting at Moseley Community Development Trust, The Post Office Building, 149-153, Alcester Road, Moseley, Birmingham B13 8JP.
We are a diverse group of people who have in common interest in and love of poetry. The group encourages poetry writing through workshops run by members or visitors; break-out groups where poems are subjected to supportive peer groups scrutiny; ten minute slots where members read a selection of their poems to the whole group and through publication in our quarterly journal, The Cannon's Mouth. Members are encouraged to participate in poetry events and competitions.
