Thank you for visiting Cannon Poets.

Since 1983, Cannon Poets have met monthly at the MAC [Midlands Arts Centre] Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham. However, due to the extended closure of Midland Arts Centre, since April 2008 we now meet at Moseley Community Development Trust, The Post Office Building, 149-153, Alcester Road, Moseley, Birmingham B13 8JP.

We are a diverse group of people who have a common interest in and love of poetry. The group encourages poetry writing through workshops run by members or visitors; break-out groups where poems are subjected to supportive peer groups scrutiny; ten minute slots where members read a selection of their poems to the whole group and through publication in our quarterly journal, The Cannon's Mouth. Members are encouraged to participate in poetry events and competitions. This website is to keep you informed of our activities and achievements.
